Autumn is that brief magical interlude when the mountains are adorned with red, gold, and orange. The mornings are cool, the coffee tastes better, and Quebec’s roads seem made for driving slowly, with no specific itinerary. For Go-Van.Club members, it’s also the perfect time to discover or rediscover our spaces. Unique places to sleep, hike, taste, and soak up nature before the snow settles in. El Campo 2025:值得记住的第九版 - El Campo 2025: A 9th Edition to Remember
From September 18 to 20, we all gathered at Baie de Beauport to celebrate the 9th edition of El Campo. Honestly? It was unforgettable. The sunshine, the smiles, the funkiest vans—you couldn’t have asked for more! A magical setting Choosing Baie de Beauport to host El Campo 2025 was a brilliant move! Between the river, the beach, and the wide open space, it truly felt like we had found our own little slice of paradise. And logistically, everything went smoothly: 500 vans parked without a hitch, everyone found their spot without stepping on each other’s toes. Bonus: not a single van got stuck when it was time to leave. Everyone rolled out with ease. Yes! For us, waking up to a river view, coffee in hand, while the kids zoomed off on the bike path happier than ever… we thought: “Ok, this is El Campo.” Perfect weather, glowing vibes The stars aligned: full sun all weekend long, warm days, and just the right evening chill for gathering around the campfires. Seriously, we couldn’t have asked for better. Awnings out, tables set up, neighbors dropping by to say hi, curious visitors touring vans, a round of spikeball, and even a spontaneous pétanque tournament… that’s exactly what the El Campo spirit is all about. A program that kept us buzzing And the programming—wow. It truly had something for everyone, balancing festive energy with inspiring pauses. On the Mix Bus, we danced with Qualité Motel, were transported by Waahli, and closed the night jumping to the beats of DJ Mix Bus and DJ Morz. Later, when the singer-songwriters took over by the campfires, the magic happened. We found ourselves singing along with strangers—who didn’t feel like strangers anymore after two choruses. Those nights where you think “Ok, I’ll just stay another 30 minutes…” and hours later you realize it’s way too late—but totally worth it! We can’t forget the Golden Crust Family: they managed to surprise everyone and make even the most low-key folks in the back burst out laughing. And there were so m...

离网货车:2025 年选择哪种电池? - Off-Grid Vanlife: Which Battery to Choose in 2025?
We love vanlife because we love the freedom it brings, right? And that freedom often comes with one key element: energy independence. We usually think about big off-grid electrical systems that can be installed in vans—super efficient of course, but often quite expensive too. Whether you’re a digital nomad, a weekender, living full-time in your van, or somewhere in between, having a reliable portable power station makes life on the road much easier and can completely transform your experience. Even if you already have a full built-in system, a portable battery can still be incredibly useful. Why is a portable battery essential for vanlife? When you live (or travel) in a campervan, every little bit of independence matters. A portable power station allows you to: - Charge your phone, camera, drone, laptop, etc. without stressing about finding a (safe and allowed) outlet. - Power your 12V fridge or cooler (huge help with food logistics), a coffee maker, or even a small fan during hot nights. - Work from anywhere—a must for remote workers and content creators. - Stay autonomous without having to rely on campgrounds with hookups ($). - Be prepared for the unexpected: in case of breakdowns or emergencies, it can be a real safety net! A good power station keeps you comfortable, free, and safe—without ever risking draining your starter battery (we’ve all been there at least once, let’s admit it). Our experience: between road trips and remote work At Go-Van, we spend a lot of time on the road. And since there are often two of us working remotely from the van, our energy needs are very real. Sure, we have a great built-in system, but an extra battery often comes in handy. Whether it’s for screening a movie outdoors, helping out a fellow vanlifer in need, running team meetings in the wild, or powering our Starlink a bit too far into the forest—there’s never a shortage of reasons to use it. Our favorite lately: Bluetti batteries. We love their long-lasting autonomy, and especia...

拉布拉多的 Vanlife:路的尽头,原始之美 - Vanlife in Labrador: At the End of the Road, Raw Beaut...
After our road trip in Newfoundland, we wanted to go even further. Literally. We had long dreamed of heading north to discover Labrador, with its wild roads and breathtaking landscapes. Vanlife in Labrador isn’t the most common route often skipped due to time constraints, but it’s absolutely worth the detour. Trust us: every kilometer is worth it. We fell in love with the vast open spaces and the place’s mystical, one-of-a-kind vibe. So we took the ferry from St. Barbe to Blanc-Sablon, heading for Labrador from Newfoundland island. We highly recommend booking your spot in advance and checking the ferry schedule to plan your route. The crossing between the two lands takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes, and it was as smooth as it was beautiful. As we approached the coast, we could already spot icebergs in the distance. A pretty epic start to the journey! A Gentle Introduction We were lucky to chat with some locals on the ferry, and their recommendation was unanimous: our first stop should be La Perle Rare in Blanc-Sablon. A cozy café with warm vibes and tasty food. The adventure was off to a great start! We then drove about 45 minutes to Pinware River Provincial Park, a riverside natural campground. There were hardly any people—just us and the quiet of the North. We were treated to a stunning sunset. We also took advantage of the campground to get our van back in order: hot showers, laundry, fresh water refill, and grey water dump. The next leg of the trip would be more remote, with no access to these amenities. Battle Harbour : like a dream We had heard a lot about the famous village of Battle Harbour—a historic and unique spot located on a small island off the southern coast of Labrador. After many days in the van, we decided to treat ourselves to a little luxury. We packed our bags and left the van behind for two nights in a beautiful heritage house! Battle Harbour is a restored fishing village turned living museum. Accessible by boat from Mary’s Harbour, it’s a jour...

纽芬兰公路之旅:山脉、海洋和冰山之间 - Road trip to Newfoundland: Between Mountains, Ocean, and Ic...
Traveling through Newfoundland in a van means embarking on an adventure on an island that combines raw nature, genuine hospitality, and unexpected moments. A family road trip that definitely ranks among our all-time favorites. We began our road trip from Estrie, heading toward Nova Scotia. Everything started in North Sydney, where we boarded the ferry to Channel-Port aux Basques. We love ferries! A 6.5-hour journey awaited us. If your budget allows: book a cabin (especially if you have a child or are prone to seasickness). It also lets you take a shower before hitting the road again. That little comfort makes a big difference when starting the adventure to Newfoundland. First Wave at Cape Ray We had barely arrived and were already surrounded by breathtaking scenery. On one side, impressive mountains; on the other, the vast ocean! We quickly searched for a nearby beach. Off to Cape Ray—a wide, peaceful beach with just enough waves to bring out the boards. Zak runs everywhere, Julien plays in the water, and Karo slowly recovers from the ferry’s rocking. The sand, sea spray, and cries of seagulls—Newfoundland greets us with energy, and we’re so happy to finally be here. We spent the night at Grand Codroy RV Park, a simple and well-located campground near the ferry terminal. Coffee, Mountains, and Billions of Years The next day, we hit the road toward Corner Brook. A must-stop: Harbour Grounds, a cozy café serving the best lattes in town and mouthwatering pastries. They even have fun little games for Zak! We took the time to explore a bit before heading to the Tablelands in Gros Morne National Park. Here, we were literally walking on the Earth’s mantle. The easy 4 km trail leads through a lunar-like landscape in shades of orange: rocks pushed up from deep inside the Earth 400 million years ago. A fascinating and emotional experience. A great hike for the whole family! From Fjords to Peaks We then experienced two must-dos in Gros Morne: the Western Brook Pond boat tour a...

埃尔坎波第九版:目的地博波尔湾! - El Campo 9th Edition: Destination Baie de Beauport!
Canada’s largest vanlife and outdoor enthusiast festival is back for its 9th edition! From September 18 to 21, El Campo once again promises to bring the community together with the sound of music, waves, and the steady arrival of engines one after another. This year, we’re heading to a Go-Van favorite: Baie de Beauport in Québec City. Why this location? Because it’s the perfect place to combine loads of vans, waterfront vibes, and a festive atmosphere! Close your eyes for a second: you’re dancing in front of the Mix Bus, feet in the sand, a crackling campfire behind you by the water… Got the picture? Sold! Why Baie de Beauport? Baie de Beauport is a hidden gem just minutes from downtown Québec City. It’s a true urban oasis where you can sink your feet in the sand and gaze out over the St. Lawrence River. It’s rare to find a van camping spot that offers a beach, water activities, and breathtaking views, all within walking distance (literally!) of Old Québec. We were looking for a spot that’s accessible, well-equipped, spacious enough to welcome our big vanlife family, and packed with good vibes—and we found it. With its vast open space, inclusive layout, clean facilities, range of activities, chill zones, and those legendary sunsets, Baie de Beauport checks every box to host El Campo just right. For the Chill-Seekers and the Adventurers If you’re coming to El Campo to relax, you’ll be able to kick back with your feet in the sand or read a book under the shade along the shore. But if you’re the type who’s always looking for action, you won’t have a single dull moment. Here’s a taste of the activities available right on-site at Baie de Beauport: Swimming in the St. Lawrence River (refreshing guaranteed!) - Water play areas for all ages - Water fun with paddleboards, jet skis, windsurfing, kitesurfing & more - Treat yourself to ice cream at the dairy bar - Play beach volleyball or pickleball with your van neighbors - Grab a drink at Bar Corona with a view of the St. Law...

不留痕迹地探索北海岸 - Exploring the Côte-Nord without leaving a trace
Vanlife on the Côte-Nord: tips for a responsible, trackless road trip. As many of you know, Karo and I have long been in love with the Côte-Nord. We love getting lost there to better find ourselves again. With its breathtaking coastal landscapes, welcoming villages, and untouched nature, the Côte-Nord is one of Quebec’s top road trip destinations this summer. From Tadoussac/Sacré-Coeur to Kegaska, passing through Fermont and Blanc-Sablon, this region offers golden sandy beaches, mighty rivers, and whales swimming along the shoreline—a truly unique experience for vanlife. To keep the Côte-Nord the warm and authentic place it is, it’s essential to visit ethically, respecting the land, the people, and the natural surroundings. Before you hit the road, here’s a quick reminder of some fundamental principles to follow for a memorable—and respectful—road trip. (Don’t worry, it’s not rocket science.) Sleep where it’s allowed The Côte-Nord is full of wild spaces, but not all are accessible—or suitable—for vanlife. It’s crucial not to camp just anywhere. A shoreline might seem like the perfect morning view, but remember the impact of 1,001 vans doing the same. Erosion happens fast, and with it, natural beauty disappears. Whether it’s for the biodiversity or the locals, let’s keep the Côte-Nord as wild and wonderful as it is. Thankfully, many municipalities are happy to welcome our community—let’s thank them by using designated spaces! Choose approved areas like campgrounds, RV stops, and community welcome zones. Use trusted platforms to find out where overnight stays are permitted—you’ll uncover some amazing spots and simplify your sleep logistics (win-win!). This not only helps protect fragile ecosystems and maintain good relations with locals, but also prevents surprises—like waking up with your feet in the water thanks to the tide (yes, it happens!). Leave No Trace The Côte-Nord is stunning—and deserves to stay that way. Always follow Leave No Trace principles. It can’t be...

Find a safe and pleasant place to stop for the night. Sleeping in a van can seem daunting at first, especially when you don’t know where to settle in peace and quiet. Fortunately, with the right resources and a little experience, it gets a lot easier. We’re fortunate to have a very vanlife-friendly province, and this is often based on respect for the places where we sleep. Let’s use the tools at our disposal to do just that! We love Quebec itineraries and destinations, so here are three Quebec platforms to use to find your next sleeping spot. Arrêts Nuitée VR Arrêts Nuitée VR is a free, 100% Québec tool that provides access to hundreds of safe, officially authorized sites for self-propelled vans. Go-Van.Club Go-Van.Club is a 100% Quebec-based network developed by and for vanlifers, offering welcoming, safe, van-friendly spaces across Quebec. 在加拿大的路上遇见当地人 - Meet Locals On The Road In Canada
Traveling Canada by van is freedom with a steering wheel. Mountains at sunrise, lakes at lunch, city lights by night-yet the miles get better when you share them. If you’ve ever pulled into a campground and wished you had a plan for meeting people nearby, this guide is your roadmap. It blends road-tested etiquette, practical spots to connect offline, and a few online tools that save time when your plans change with the weather. Why Building Connections Makes Vanlife Easier Community is the invisible spare tire of vanlife. It helps when you need a socket wrench at 9 p.m., a coffee recommendation at 7 a.m., or company for a quick hike before the rain rolls in. Meeting locals also unlocks micro-insights you won’t find on the most detailed map-like which forest road just washed out, which brewery hosts trivia on Tuesdays, or which lakeside lot is ticket-happy after 10 p.m. And there’s a creative upside: conversations with strangers regularly turn into route ideas, photo spots, and small adventures that become the stories you retell next season. Where To Meet People Offline Without Awkwardness Campgrounds and provincial parks Shared spaces are social by design. Respect quiet hours, but feel free to wave, ask where people are headed next, or compliment a rig. If conversation flows, propose a short, low-commitment activity-an evening walk, a sunrise coffee, or a quick paddle. Community boards and recreation centers Most towns in Canada maintain a physical or digital board listing free events, volunteer days, and meetups. Short-term visitors are welcome. Drop into a community run, outdoor club night, or trail-maintenance morning to meet active locals fast. Third-wave coffee and co-working corners The barista knows everyone. If you’re solo at a big table, look up and smile when someone asks to share the space. A simple opener-“I’m road-tripping between Revelstoke and Golden; any must-ride trails?”-usually turns into a five-minute tip exchange. Climbing gyms, yoga studios, an...

旅途生活:选择加拿大精选酒店的舒适体验 - Life on the road: choose the comfort of Choice Hotels Cana...
Everyone knows that summer is always full of adventures! During the summer months, we always take advantage of the opportunity to go on road trips with our family. When we can, we like to extend our road trips over several weeks so we can take our time, adjust our itinerary based on our preferences, and fully enjoy each of our destinations. On our most recent trip to Gaspésie, we made a stop in Mont-Joli on our way home and stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites, which is part of the Choice Hotels Canada network of hotels. It was the perfect place for us to take a short break from our daily life on the road. When there are three of us living in the van, it’s sometimes a good idea to stop at a friend’s house or a hotel to spend the night and reset before our next adventures. We take the opportunity to reorganize the van, do some laundry, and take a hot shower before hitting the road! A well-deserved break on the road When choosing a place to stay on our road trips, we always look for an all-in-one family destination that allows us to organize, entertain and relax. A place that’s the perfect blend of convenience and comfort! Our stay at the Quality Inn & Suites, was a well-deserved stop after several days on the road around Gaspésie. Our favourite on-site services included free laundry (a dream for any nomadic family on the road for several days), wifi and a remote work area in the lobby, a children’s playground, an indoor pool, massage therapists and a gym. Karo enjoyed a massage after a workout and a dip in the spa, while Zak had a blast in the pool with Dad. Lucky for us, breakfast was included in our stay! We filled our plates with eggs, bacon, waffles and fruit, with a good cup of coffee to refuel before we hit the road again. The comfort of Choice Hotels Canada After a warm welcome, we discovered our room, which had everything to satisfy us. Zak was able to sleep on his own sofa bed in the living room, while we had an enclosed room for a good, relaxing night’s sleep...
