CampusKnot 筹集了 110 万美元来扩展其人工智能驱动的教学助理平台,帮助...... - CampusKnot Raises $1.1M to Sc...
STARKVILLE, Miss., Nov. 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- CampusKnot Inc., an AI-powered teaching assistant platform for higher education, announced today that it has raised $1.1 million to expand its footprint across the United States and accelerate adoption of its technology among universities. The investment comes from Tulane Ventures, Boot 64 Ventures, Invest Mississippi Impact Fund, Momentum Fund, and Greaux Innovation Ventures, along with several private angels from Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arizona. The funding highlights the growing strength of the Mississippi and Louisiana innovation corridor, where startups combine academic expertise with emerging technology to improve education. Helping Professors Teach, Not Just Manage CampusKnot was built around a simple idea: enhancing student engagement begins with empowering professors. Teaching is at the heart of every learning experience, and professors play a pivotal role in shaping it. It all starts with them. They should be spending more time teaching and mentoring students, not juggling the constant demands of research, administration, and classroom management. The platform acts as an AI teaching assistant, helping instructors generate classroom questions, track participation, automate grading and feedback, and summarize discussions while giving professors a clear view of who is engaging and who might be falling behind. In practice, a professor using CampusKnot can upload a syllabus and course content, automatically generate activities aligned with learning objectives, deploy interactive and fun classroom activities, track attendance, manage rewards and incentives, and receive engagement analytics that tie teaching goals to measurable learning outcomes. The result is more time for meaningful conversation and mentorship, and a deeper understanding of how students are learning week by week. "Our vision is to make teaching more effortless and fun," said Rahul Gopal, Co-founder and CEO of CampusKnot. "Students are looking ...

特斯拉全自动驾驶 v14 令人失望,出现幻觉、刹车刺伤和超速 - Tesla Full Self-Driving v14 disappoints with ha...
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) v14, its first major update in a year, disappoints as data points to a lower increase in miles between disengagements than expected. The system also features new hallucinations, brake stabbing, and excessive speeding. Earlier this month, Tesla began rolling out its Full Self-Driving (FSD) v14 software update to some customers. The update has been highly anticipated for several reasons. First off, it has been a year since Tesla released any significant FSD update to customers, as it focused on its internal robotaxi fleet in Austin. The update is believed to feature improvements developed through Tesla’s robotaxi fleet, which requires supervising like its consumer FSD. Secondly, CEO Elon Musk has claimed that Tesla still plans for “Supervised Full Self-Driving” to become unsupervised by the end of the year in consumer vehicles. For that to happen, we needed to see a massive improvement from v13 to v14. As I previously reported, I anticipated an improvement in miles between critical disengagements from ~400 miles in v13 to ~800 to 1,200 miles in v14. It would be a significant improvement, but still way short of what’s needed to make FSD unsupervised. Tesla notoriously doesn’t release any data about its FSD program. Musk has literally told people to rely on anecdotal experiences posted on social media to gauge progress. Fortunately, there’s a crowdsourced dataset that gives us some data to track progress with miles between critical disengagement. It’s far from perfect, but it is literally the best data available, and Musk himself has shared the dataset in the past – albeit while misrepresenting it. In the last week, Tesla started pushing the FSD v14 update (now v14.1.4) to more owners – resulting in more crowdsourced data and anecdotal evidence. With now over 4,000 miles of FSD v14 data, miles between critical disengagement sits about 732 miles – below the lower end of our expectations: Tesla would need to be closer to 10,000 miles betwee...

新研究称,埃隆·马斯克的政治行为导致特斯拉仅在美国就损失了超过 100 万辆销量 - Elon Musk’s politics cost Tesla over ...
We’ve been talking about the impact of Elon Musk’s venture into politics on the Tesla brand for years, but now a new study from the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) is putting some staggering numbers to it. According to a new working paper, Musk’s “polarizing and partisan actions” have directly cost Tesla over a million vehicle sales in the US alone. The study, titled “The Musk Partisan Effect on Tesla Sales,” argues that without this effect, Tesla’s sales would have been 67% to 83% higher between October 2022 and April 2025. That’s an absolutely massive number, and it suggests Tesla’s recent sales slump isn’t just about “increased competition” or “pent-up demand” being satisfied. It’s about the brand. The researchers from Yale and NBER didn’t just run a poll. They dug into county-level, monthly new vehicle registration data for all EVs and hybrids from March 2020 to April 2025. They used a “difference-in-differences” analysis. In simple terms, they tracked how sales trends changed in heavily Democratic-leaning counties versus heavily Republican-leaning counties. The “treatment” event that broke the trend? Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in October 2022. Here’s what the data shows: - Before Oct. 2022: Counties with more Democrats showed an increasing preference for Teslas compared to Republican counties. This makes sense, as we know EV adoption has historically been higher among liberal-leaning buyers. - After Oct. 2022: The trend dramatically reverses. As Musk’s political activities—including “relaxed content moderating of far-right and extremist voices” and massive campaign contributions—ramped up, Democratic-leaning counties began “shifting away from Tesla purchases”. The study is blunt, noting Musk’s actions “antagonized his most loyal customer base”. The paper runs two different models to quantify the damage, and the results are “remarkably similar”. Aggregated from October 2022 through April 2025, the “Musk partisan effect” cost Tesla between 1.0...

DRB 批准在 390 Ruby Street 进行扩建和 ADU,但附带壁板、空调和入口格子的条件 - DRB approves addition and A...
The Design Review Board voted to approve an addition, an ADU conversion and related entitlements at 390 Ruby Street after staff and the applicant agreed to several neighbor‑requested changes. Assistant planner Jessica Mendoza summarized the application: a 233‑square‑foot upper‑level addition, a 151‑square‑foot lower‑level replacement and a 332‑square‑foot ADU converted from an attached one‑car garage; the ADU requires a coastal development permit and a variance because the lowered finished floor increases measured height. "Staff believes that all findings support the approval and can be made for the requested entitlements," Mendoza said. Architect Tim Nicholl told the board the design preserves the cottage character and that he plans to reuse existing shiplap siding where possible. He also said the team would relocate the air‑conditioning condenser to Catalina Street and remove a pedestrian trellis following neighbor comments. Several board members raised questions about parking loss tied to the ADU; staff noted the ADU complies with current ADU rules and the property meets replacement parking requirements on site. Board members made three conditions part of their approval: retain and repair existing shiplap siding (replace only with matching shiplap where necessary), relocate the AC condenser to the Catalina Street side at a location acceptable to staff (disagreements return to the board) and delete the trellis over the pedestrian entry. The motion carried 5–0. The approved entitlements were Design Review 25‑1577, Coastal Development Permit 25‑1190, Revocable Encroachment Permit 25‑1189 and Variance 25‑2054. The board noted neighborhood support and asked the applicant to provide the AC location to staff for final sign‑off before permit issuance.

市议会倾向于不对独立 ADU 收取额外的公用事业基本费用; - Council leans toward not charging extra utility ...
Midland City staff asked council guidance Nov. 6 about how to bill utilities for detached accessory dwelling units (ADUs). The code currently references charging a base water and sewer rate for detached ADUs but staff said that, in practice, the city had been billing no additional base fees for several existing detached ADUs and that billing practice needs policy clarity. Staff outlined options: (1) charge no additional base utility fees for detached ADUs when the ADU is on the same meter and lot, (2) charge a reduced (for example, half) base fee for certain utility line items (stormwater, EMS/911 communication fees, etc.), or (3) require a separate meter and full impact/fee treatment. Staff noted administrative complications when multiple units share meters and the city’s existing approach for townhouses and multifamily complexes (individual metering where feasible, reduced impact fees for attached units). Councilors asked about policy goals — whether ADUs should be treated as tools to expand affordable housing or simply as accessory living space. Multiple council members said they favored removing an additional base utility charge for detached ADUs on the same lot and asked staff to produce ordinance text to implement that approach. Staff also noted one incentive the city has offered previously: a partial impact fee rebate if the ADU is rented at an affordable rate; staff said there have been no applicants for that rebate to date. Next steps: Staff will draft ordinance language consistent with the council’s direction, clarifying meter/impact fee rules for ADUs, and return for council consideration.

阿什兰童子军将于周二在退伍军人节早餐会上表达谢意 - Ashland Scouts slated to serve up gratitude at Vetera...
Scout Troop 112 to honor veterans with free breakfast, conversation, and respect By Paul R. Huard for Ashland.news Ashland’s Scouts and veterans will share stories and smiles over a free Veterans Day breakfast Tuesday morning, an annual effort by the troop to honor those who served in the U.S. military. Ashland Scout Troop 112 will serve breakfast at the Ashland Elks Lodge No. 944 starting at 7 a.m., with youth members from the Scouting America troop taking meal orders, guiding veterans to their seats, serving coffee and food, and cleaning tables for the next diners. Food will be served until about 11:30 a.m. or until it runs out, said Kevin Calkins, the troop’s assistant scoutmaster. The Ashland Elks Lodge is at 255 E. Main St. Participants can park their vehicles in the parking lot behind the lodge. There is no charge to veterans for the meal. Non-veterans who attend can donate as they can afford. Important day for Scout Troop 112 Calkins, who is a retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer with 22 years’ service, said Scouts in the troop have been involved with serving Veterans Day breakfasts to former service members since 2017, working either with the American Legion or the Elks. He said it’s important for Scouts to make connections with veterans so the youths can understand the importance of public service. “The Scouts learn about Ashland’s veterans, who they are and what they did. They begin to have a connection back to them through these events,” Calkins said. “I think the Scouts begin to appreciate those who served. Veterans Day history Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I. The armistice that halted fighting between Allied forces and Germany took effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918. In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed Nov. 11 as the first Armistice Day, honoring the heroism of Americans who served in the “war to end all wars.” Over time, the observance became a way to re...

马德拉斯童子军收集捐款,在十二月向退伍军人坟墓敬献花圈 - Madras Cub Scouts collecting donations to put wrea...
Madras Cub Scouts collecting donations to put wreaths on veterans graves in December Published 5:00 am Friday, November 7, 2025 The Madras Cub Scout Pack 7058 and Scouts BSA Troop 9058 are now collecting donations for their annual National Wreaths Across America Day effort to place wreaths on veteran gravesites. The goal of the event is to have a wreath on every veteran gravesite in Madras. Lorraine Martinelli is the chair for both groups and started this event in 2021. She remembers the first year the event took place and how cold it was. “The first year, I was so cold and shivering and they could see that,” Martinelli said. “And they’re out there, and these men are just so strong and amazing. And they’re older gentlemen. But they were just out there doing it, making the ceremony happen. And to me, that showed just how resilient they are.” This year, wreaths will be laid on Dec. 13, but Martinelli says they need donations to come in before the end of the month. Each wreath should cost $18, and $5 of that goes back to the Cub Scouts. “I tell people all the time, we don’t do it for the money,” Martinelli said. “… I encourage the scouts to remember it’s for the veterans and their families, and most of all, their families. Because they’re the ones that are there laying the wreaths on their loved one’s grave or listening to the scouts honoring the veterans.” For the yearly event, Martinelli puts together a script, and part of it is done by the scouts themselves.

历史悠久的温泉、烧烤和水晶般的葡萄酒——这个加州小镇应有尽有 - Historic Hot Springs, Bangin’ BBQ, and Crystal-...
Historic Hot Springs, Bangin’ BBQ, and Crystal-Charged Wine—This California Town Has it All Calistoga offers the wellness retreat perfect for a weekender. Tucked at the northernmost end of Napa Valley, Calistoga feels like the last honest outpost in a region that’s otherwise gone full Disneyland. This crunchy little cowboy town still smells faintly of woodsmoke and mineral springs, and the dress code skews more vintage Levi’s than linen suit, making it the perfect spot for a weekender away from the City. Long before the Michelin stars and spa menus, this area drew travelers for its geothermal waters bubbling up from the earth thanks to a volcanic system. These natural wonders gave rise to the region’s first hot spring resorts in the 19th century. And even now, you can feel that same raw, restorative energy. Calistoga keeps its dusty boots planted firmly in the past, but manages to also be a modern-day escape. Here’s how to make a perfect weekender out of your visit. DO Start with a mineral soak or a mud bath at Dr. Wilkinson’s, the town’s OG spa hotel that’s been reimagined with midcentury flair but still retains it’s unfussy l’esprit du lieu . From there, fill up your water bottle with their fancy Aqua Ovo-filtered water and hit the Oat Hill Mine Trail, a local favorite that winds through chaparral and volcanic rock formations with wide-open views of the valley floor. For something softer, Bothe-Napa Valley State Park offers shaded trails through redwoods and oaks, and even a public swimming pool filled with spring water in summer. Travelers looking for a horse-and-vineyard experience can visit Tamber Bey Vineyards, a working ranch in Calistoga where prized Arabian and mustang horses share space with grapevines, and tastings take place just steps from the stables—a nod to Napa Valley’s equestrian roots. EAT The food scene in this neck of the woods reflects Calistoga’s unpretentious charm. At Dr. Wilkinson’s House of Better, the kitchen leans into healthy comfort fo...

史密斯菲尔德分区委员会批准位于霍华德大道 7000 号的 ADU,但有条件限制... - Smithfield zoning board approves AD...
The Smithfield Zoning Board of Review on Nov. 5 approved variances to allow a 592-square-foot accessory dwelling unit (ADU) at 7000 Howard Drive, owner-applicant Heidi Gelsimino told the board. The board voted unanimously to grant the dimensional relief requested for front and rear setbacks and approved the project with two conditions: (1) the interior door between the ADU kitchen and the study must not be a closable door (the opening may be framed but not fitted with a functioning door), and (2) the applicant’s engineer must address any increase in stormwater runoff from the new driveway and ADU, sized for a 1.2-inch design storm on impervious surfaces. Why it matters: The board’s approval uses new state statutory calculations for setbacks on nonconforming lots; the application was reviewed in light of recent changes to state ADU law. The applicant said the ADU is intended to house a family member recovering from cancer and that long-term occupancy is expected by the owner or the owner’s children rather than an unrelated tenant. Attorney Tim Kane, representing the applicant, described the lot as ‘‘a unique piece of property’’ and explained the setback math under the state formula for nonconforming lots, saying both the front and rear setbacks compute to approximately 11.1 feet under the statute but that the proposed ADU would sit about 6.8 feet from Nimitz Drive and about 8.8 feet from the rear property line, thus requiring modest variances. Kane also presented the site plan and dimensions and confirmed the proposed ADU size of 592 square feet; the board examined coverage calculations and whether the in-ground pool counted toward lot coverage. Heidi Gelsimino testified that she has lived at the property for about 21 years and that the ADU is intended for her mother, who recently was diagnosed with cancer and has chemotherapy-related neuropathy. She said long-term occupancy would be by herself or her children if not by her mother. Board members visited the property ...

独立附属住宅单元法规最终确定 - LINK nky - Independence accessory dwelling unit regulations fin...
The Independence City Council issued final approval of restrictions on accessory dwelling units, or ADUs, in the city Monday night with a 5-1 vote. Council Member Carol Franzen was the only member to cast a no vote, she said, because she was “against these things altogether.” ADUs are small housing structures, such as guesthouses, built in addition to the main residential structure. The Independence City Council resolved in August to begin the process of reforming its regulations on accessory dwellings after it received its first-ever request from a property owner to build one since the city rewrote its zoning ordinance in 2020. The city sent a draft ordinance to the Kenton County Planning Commission for approval thereafter. The planning commission approved it in September. The new regulations restrict the number of zones in which residents, besides the applicant mentioned above, can build ADUs. The new regulations allow the construction of ADUs in the city’s residential rural estate, or R-RE, zones. They disallow ADUs in the city’s residential compact subdivision, or R-CPS, zones, residential conventional subdivision, or R-CVS, zones and residential mixed, or R-M, zones. Units are now allowed as conditional uses in the city’s residential large lot subdivision, or R-LLS, zones. Additionally, any newly constructed ADUs must conform to the city’s design standards, which already apply to primary, single-family housing units. Documents submitted to the county for last month’s planning commission meeting lay out other restrictions and allowances, as well: - ADUs’ square footage must be included in the square footage limitations for each zone but are exempt from lot area unit limits and density standards - Only one ADU may be established per single-family or two-family lot - No ADUs on lots smaller than 5,000 square feet - ADUs can be attached or detached from the primary housing structure - ADU setbacks have to conform to setback limits for other accessory structures (e....

哈佛女孩们在美国童子军中制定了自己的课程…… - Harvard girls chart their own course in Scouting Americ...
A new female Scouting America troop, formerly known as the Boy Scouts, has officially been established in Harvard, marking a milestone in the town’s youth leadership opportunities. Troop 7001 was established earlier this year and boasts five girls as members. While Scouting America has been admitting females since 2019, this is the first year Harvard was able to establish a troop for the girls to call their own. The girls troop was built on the same infrastructure as Troop 1, the long-standing boys troop in town, and shares a committee, fundraising, and resources with the male troop while maintaining its own activities and leadership. From left: Assistant Scoutmaster Naomi Veeder, Jianna Joel, Annecy Evans, Scoutmaster Kerry Evans, and Eleni Kekis celebrate being on top of Sleeping Beauty Mountain in the Adirondacks in August. (Courtesy photos) The establishment of a girls troop here stems from a broader movement within Scouting America to modernize and broaden its reach. Formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America, the organization officially changed its name to Scouting America in February 2025, in a rebranding effort launched on the organization’s 115th birthday and meant to reflect its commitment to inclusivity, according to a 2024 press release. Here, that transition took shape under Scoutmaster Kerry Evans, a longtime boys troop parent. Her daughter, Annecy, a current sixth-grader at Bromfield, was inspired by her three older brothers’ scouting adventures and wanted to participate too. “[Annecy] grew up seeing [her brothers] do all this fun stuff in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts,” said Evans. “She would say, ‘When I get to be a Cub Scout …’ and I [would have to say], ‘Sweetie, you’re not going to get to be a Cub Scout.’ And then, lo and behold, when she began kindergarten [in 2019], she could be a Cub Scout!” Sixth-graders, from left: Jianna Joel, Ting Ting Tan, and Annecy Evans show off a salamander they found.
